Biography

Melissa Mercer, MS, CCC-SLP, EFC (she/her)

Speech Language Pathologist & Executive Functions Consultant

I’m Melissa and my pronouns are she/her. I am the mother of a gender-expansive child and partner to man who has a Master of Science in Business Leadership (thank goodness). Between routine and responsibility, I enjoy reading about the lived experiences of populations of which I am not a part, to develop awareness and continue my journey toward anti-racism, compassion and empathy. I acknowledge my privilege as a white, cisgender, heterosexual, middle class American. My intersectionality includes invisible disability and being a woman. I also enjoy researching sleep, executive functioning, Celiac disease, Migraine disease and neurodiversity. More recently my cooking and baking skills have been tested in my gluten-free, Celiac-friendly kitchen. Work-life balance has become one of my passions over the course of this year and my background as a Speech Language Pathologist has prepared me for success in this area. I would love the opportunity to teach you what I know about the brain and provide a forum for open, judgment-free problem solving to meet your individual goals. Goals related to speech, language, swallowing or life-style are within my scope of practice. I’m here for you.
